Why I: Wear Black Gloves

So a lot of people have been asking the question. All the answers will be explained below:
Reasons:
  • I usually leave campus by noon. The car is well heated by then, burning my ass and providing hot stuffy air for free. To add insult to injury the steering wheel is hot. You know la kan Miri's coastal heat. Hence the black gloves.
  • I have a bad habit of clenching tightly on my steering wheel out of stress/anger/road rage. Every time I do it I tend to burn my palm. I needed to do something to allow me to continue let go of all the rage WHILE doing it safely. Hence the black gloves.
  • Morning classes with a fully-blasted air conditioning is a delight for anyone. Too bad it can get too cold in some rooms especially if it means studying in that room for 8 hours straight. Hence the black gloves.
  • It looks cool. It matches any of my jackets. But I ain't a mafia's black hand or anything. It just looks cool. Hence the black gloves.

Why I: Don't Respond to Hashim

Being a student in a multicultural learning environment I grew tolerance to several versions of my names from colleagues. I understand it's due to their slang that somewhat changed my names into Hysan, Hii Sheng, Hisma (wth?), etc. I'll confirm with them whether he/she was calling me by looking at them and go "ya?" and 99% of the time they were. But there will always be one version of the distortion that I would not respond, ever. Hashim.

Why? Because my original Arabic name of Hisham means "Generous" while Hashim means "Crusher of Evil" or "Broker". Slightly different pronounciation but different meanings overall. And because of this, added with my learnt kiasuism nature, I won't respond to people calling me with the latter. If the latter is called I'll assume there's a Hashim nearby and I'll save the trouble of looking at them and go "ya?'.

Hope that clears up several unanswered attentions. Plus, I prefer being generous than being a broker. Being the middle-man can be so confusing and mafan. Haha.

Why I: Have a Lighter in the Bathroom

You'll know its burning them gases when the fire produces this effect

No I don't smoke in the toilet (nor am I a smoker, except in certain cases in L4D as the zombie Smoker). Any toilet that I frequent can be found with a lighter nearby, as I use them to burn the bad toilet odor from the previous user or on certain occasion myself after a few episodes with nasi jawa with petai. I don't know if it's scientifically proven that this method effectively burns all the excess gas we dispose, but it sure did removed the smell after 1-2 minutes. Worse 3 minutes. The things we do to be a responsible toilet user. Puhhh....

Why I: Seem to Have Issues

I'm optimistic. Nose-bleed? Nah it's okay it's not deadly, here drink more water. You broke a leg? It's okay you can still talk and procreate, it's not like it's the end of the world. It's the end of the world? It's okay I'll meet you on Judgment Day and we'll talk about your leg, just miss call.

But for the past 21 years living on this temporary materialistic world called Earth, I became cynical of everything. Huh? He wants our help? Screw it, where was he when I needed help. What for should I help him or the next person asking for it if they'll just need me when they're going to get phucked? Sure I live up to my name, "the Generous" from time to time with charity and random free advices to friends, but I have yet received a single act of random kindness from the more fortunate to remind me I'm not alone in terms of giving back. Even getting 'thanks' or 'good morning' nowadays is rare from strangers and even from friends. Most are forced or have to be reminded. I got tired of it and have low expectations in humanity.

Combine those two together we get these:
Optimism (n.): A tendency to expect the best possible outcome or dwell on the most hopeful aspects of a situation: “There is a touch of optimism in every worry about one's own moral cleanliness” (Victoria Ocampo).

Cynic (n.): A person who believes all people are motivated by selfishness.

So I'm an optimistic cynic. Having ideologies where the worst SNAFU has a lighter side to make fun of and trust no-one 100% at all because of human's growing selfishness, they deserve it because they're selfish. That's why I seem indifferent in face of tragedy, and even more sien looking when it comes to people talking to me. This was carried on for a while and I ended up having the default 'I-have-issues' facial expression. I know most people would skim through blog posts despite your messy layouts and bad color combinations, because most will do that and then go back to their own blogs and make it prettier thinking others will come by and awed by it. That's my current optimistic cynic level right now. Aye caramba I really need some food for my soul before I get worse.

Why I 1: Don't Eat the Whole Chicken Wing

Those who have eaten dinner, lunch, supper, brunch, and afternoon tea with me might have noticed this eating behavior. I love chicken wings (but drumsticks and breasts still top my list P:) and I can go on a killing spree consuming 10 wings in one go, but I will leave the end of the wings alone.

Why? Well, because not long ago I've seen how some people would inject some growth hormone chemical stuff into the chicken's head to make them grow 4x faster. One of those stuff is steroid [citations needed]. So basically the steroid sediment will reside in the end of the wings and in some cases, it can be seen as black stuff in that part when you peel off the skin (might not apply to hangused wings).

Hence explains the uber size of the people who have a diet consisting of chicken for almost everyday, especially ang moes (us here don't eat at KFC or McD almost everyday, mahal ooo). And yeah I've seen the same effect on the local populace. I mean, some of the dudes and dudettes here are uber big than your standard average Asian size since they eat all the parts with the steroids altogether as their staple diet without knowing it.

Sure, eating these power-upped chickens are somewhat good since you can outgrow your buddies. But I'll pass, because of the long term effect it might bring. Taking in second hand drugs already sounds bad by default, and too much steroids will kill your children [1]. Ouch.

But don't be alarmed. Not all farm raised chickens are injected with growth boosters, so don't poke around that RM9.00 Snack Plate. Just put it into your mouth and eat it, we only live once. And if you are unsure and/or love your children, just leave the parts where you think sediments will form or blood veins are heavily concentrated (I'm no physiologist so I don't have the credibility). Alright, enjoy your next chicken meal. It's finger lickin' good P:
