Went to the PIKOM PC Fair yesterday at STEC, and everything that is to be expected to be in a PC Fair was there. You know, typical Acer, HP and Compaqs (oh and Dells too) with noticeable 100-200++ discount, woofer and speakers, mouse and other accessories, projectors, LCD screen (sheet I found a tempting RM400 LCD monitor XD but no thanks not now) etc. But this time I got some more upgrades in mind.
A confused Auntie who just wanders around taking the countless spamming brochures and not buy anything, or someone who is looking for an Alienware or Acer's Predator?
This time it's my sis' turn to find her other half that will accompany her in her years in University life starting from next semester
And here is what I've been looking for in this PC Fair. Random Access Memory.RAMs. 2GB 2 pieces of them. I wanted to do my last upgrade I can apply on my Acer 4520 which is 4GB worth of RAM.
RM88 sahaja per RAM. Kinda expensive considering the West is selling them for RM70++. The cheapest in the fair, others were selling them for RM100 per piece. Yikes. And back in the shop it's RM159. Double yikes with WTF.
On-the-spot upgrade by the tauke of the booth. The operation begins...
And this is how my Acer 4520 innards look like, green and microchippy
And this is the end-result after the operation. It's 4GB but the max XP will show is 3.18GB

With total cost of RM181 including RM5 service charge, the 4GB upgrade is worth it. The feeling of running a pimped-out and tricked-out-to-the-max laptop is beyond words. Now it seriously feels like driving a Daihatsu running on V10 engine. Gonna overclock some more and review the performance in a future post.

Hey speaking of Laptop here, nowadays there seem to be a lot of those HUGE laptop with very big screen! looking at those laptop make me think why don't they just get a usual desktop! can get one with lot's of nice features edi with that price + it's big and heavy = not nice to carry around to begin with, losing the purpose of laptop there.
Stuff now go in extreme, it's either one of those small laptop that nice to carry around but apart then that i really don't feel like staring at that little screen at home, or the big one soo nice to look at but not nice to take it out unless u r training for muscle or what
Ps: house theme song got that long meh!! i didn't know leh and what with the theme Australia, aren't it same for the whole world? sigh i miss watching house! stupid dl quota, have to be choosy and dl what i really wanna watch only.
well i do envy those able to go with resolutions exceeding 12800 x 800, all seems sharper and nicer and , 'real'. You'd be surprised how light those widescreen laptops can be, of course if its one of the top brands... And yea no, I dont go for puny screened machines (except handphones)
Got... the actual song is 5 minutes, the one for House is short cut version to fit it in the 30 sec (?) intro. And there's the vocal version one which I downloaded a year ago which i like but unavailable for posting...
