Live 12% Longer

Quote from THE BORNEO POST, Nature & Health section 19/01/08 p.2:

"LIVE 12% LONGER

How: Get less sleep
Why: A joint study from the University of California's School of Medicine and the American Cancer Society found that compared to people getting seven hours a night, people who slept for recommended eight hours a night were 12% more likely to die prematurely. However, one study also found that getting less than four hours sleep a night significantly increased the death rate."

The newspaper should reference the link, ma fan have to Google the article. Anyways the full article can be found here.

Ok so this means that a person should sleep for min 5 and max 7 hours only la is it? Well technically this is kinda good news for me and a couple of other late-niters (all students of course, maybe you're one of them) since our generation somehow managed to reduce the need for sleep and still able to live optimally. And who knows in the near future we don't need to sleep at all because of our biological clock 'evolution', and after that we also might not need to eat, drink, walk, breed (well that sucks) etc to achieve perfect evolution...

But logically I think the sleep less live longer only applies to teens and adults because little kids still need their 10 hours rest due to their hyper metabolism and I've seen them mutate into cranky monstrosities if they try to stay up. Speaking of which, from my point of view this is an evolving lifestyle. Back when I was 6-10 years old I slept at 8pm (wtf right?) then 11-15 years old it's 10-11pm, then at age 15-17 it's 12-2am and finally at 18-20 I hit the hay at 4am++ before waking up at 11am on no-class day and 7am on have-class day. And there's no addition from naps, I don't take afternoon naps because I'll always wake up disoriented for a minute. So that's 3-7 hours sleep for me and leaves me on the border of living longer-living shorter, which means I'll live life at 100% and not 112% or 88%. I think I should be happy with that percentage :)

Interesting post!! I think most of the teenagers these days 'burn the midnight oil' for some reasons not including studying, of cuz...lol...
I'm happy to live my life at 100%..no more or no less. For me,
112%= longer suffering
88%= lack of enjoyment and fun

Sleep less naturally and have more energy all day!
Resveratrol Supplements can help you control your weight naturally
by increasing energy, reducing cravings, and limiting your appetite.
According to Wikipedia, Consumer Lab, an independent dietary
supplement and over the counter products evaluation organization,
published a report on 13 November 2007 on the popular resveratrol
supplements. The organization reported that there exists a wide range
in quality, dose, and price among the 13 resveratrol products
evaluated. The actual amount of resveratrol contained in the
different brands range from 2.2mg for Revatrol, which claimed to have
400mg of "Red Wine Grape Complex", to 500mg for Biotivia.com Transmax,
which is consistent with the amount claimed on the product's label.
Prices per 100mg of resveratrol ranged from less than $.30 for
products made by Biotivia.com, jarrow, and country life, to a high of
$45.27 for the Revatrol brand. None of the products tested were found
to have significant levels of heavy metals or other contaminants.

nah, time doesn't really concern me, u should edi know me to have no sense of time, last time in aus i sambil chat with u sambil read comic/novel till 6am leh on the weekend, the weekday still go by like normal. My biological clock edi ruin edi, just sometime the urge of waking up will function.

what i mean by the urge of waking up is neh have u ever after the alarm ring u shut it off and went back to bed, then really fall asleep for 10 or 15 minutes then suddenly ur mind said why r u still sleeping! then u wake up and jump of the bed and grab ur alarm clock, stare at it then scream alamak! that kind of feeling lol, sometime my mind dunno why, even though that day no need to wake up, that feeling can suddenly come and give me a heart attack, and usually my sensible side will scold, alamak what today Saturday! no school! I just did that last last sat, jump of bed at 7.30am thinking i have ac class that day as well, crazy! 5 minutes later i'm back in bed again.

Anyway back to the topic, 3 hrs not too bad lah, i hav gone though hell when went to Auckland, 5 hours! am suppose having dinner according to m'sia time but time at that country said i suppose to go to bed edi.

For people like us, turning time backward is always easier, it's just make our life seems more healthy, sleep and wake up on the right time, turning forward is nightmare! not only suffer from the impact of rugi some time, even turn days into nights
